“The Happiest Time of the Year?”
Rev. Dr. Amy Rio

This season is supposed to be the “hap-hap-happiest time of the year,” according to one beloved Christmas song. As we live in a society focused on happiness, how does this compare to true joy? Join us as Rev. Amy explores what joy is in a society that only wants to be happy.

11:30 a.m. at the Salisbury Gathering

“Joy Just Under the Surface”
Rev. Shakeisha Holton Gray

Patty Van Cappellen, a social psychologist doing research on joy at Duke University, suggests “that joy connects us to our core identity, values, and priorities…It is the emotion that makes life worth living in the moment…joy arises from realizing how circumstances align perfectly and just make sense: things are exactly how they ought to be at that moment.” Join us as Rev. Shakeisha explores the way joy often lingers just under the surface of our experiences.
