ReGathering at Piedmont UU Church
Piedmont Unitarian Universalist Church is reopening March 6 at 11:00 at the University Gathering. All members are welcome to worship at our University Gathering for now. A date for worshiping at our Salisbury Gathering will be announced soon. We’re excited to introduce our new pianist, Anne Pengilly, that day.
The Regathering Committee created our new promise
We assessed the latest information from UUA, CDC, and local health officials. While Charlotte-Mecklenburg lifted the mask mandate as of February 26, the Regathering Committee and our Board of Trustees would like us to continue wearing masks while we monitor trends for the new variant, our surrounding counties, our vulnerable members, and metrics over the next few weeks.
We listened to your feedback
While we still have to wear masks, we encourage you to sing while wearing them. We will fellowship inside or outside of the building safely distanced. Groups of friends or family can sit together. The bathrooms are open again. So come and be a part. Please read the fine details in Our Promise on our website.
Our volunteers set up seats for family groups, which allows us to use our space more efficiently. We can greet visitors by name. (Visitors have been registering.) Registration makes contact tracing possible. It means we don’t have to take contact information at the door.
We’ve made registration easier.
- By Saturday 6PM, register online. Register individually or for the family group you’d like to sit with. *Or, email the church office with the names and dates you’d like to register, and someone will sign you up (firstname.lastname@example.org).
- This is new, too: you can register at one time for any or all Sundays of the month. Right now, the Sundays in March are open. That way, you can cut down on the number of times you register.
- If you have a conflict with registering by Saturday night, email Karen Haag by Sunday morning to see if there are spaces open. If you get called away Sunday morning and you already registered, email Karen to let her know you’re canceling.
We ask for grace as we continue to offer a meaningful worship experience despite the pandemic – online and in-person. Our committee will continue to watch recommendations, trends, and your feedback and make changes as quickly as we can.
Come back to church!
Come back for singing. Come back for the message. Come back for energy. Come back to give energy to others. We have so many signs that the pandemic is waning and that is good news. So, we invite you back!
