Piedmont UU Church Celebration and Charlotte Pride Parade on August 27th

Go ahead and mark you calendars right now, because you are not going to want to miss August 27th at Piedmont UU Church.

For the first time in the history of our awesome community we will be worshiping with all three gatherings under one roof!  On Sunday, August 27th there will be no services in Lake Norman or in Salisbury.  Everyone in our community will join together at the University Gathering for a very special, joy filled, spiritual, musical, uproarious celebration of our life together.  We will be exploring two fundamental questions “Who are we?” and “Whose are we?” in a worship service packed with song, and maybe even a little dance.

But that’s not all!  Right after our service together we are going to caravan to uptown to take part in our annual Charlotte Pride Parade.  We will once again be standing in solidarity with our LGBTQ community by marching in the parade, and this year, with all of our gatherings together, we should be able to bring out quite group to support equality in the queen city.  I have been in the parade every year since I have been here at Piedmont UU Church, and I tell everyone who will listen that this is one of my favorite parts of our ministry in this church.  It is hard to find an afternoon filled with more joy and love than the afternoon of the pride parade.  If you have never been before, this is your year!  Come see what it is all about.

This will be a first of its kind opportunity for us all to come together for a celebration of all that makes this church community great followed by our congregation’s time to show that we stand of for equality for all.  You will not want to miss this!
