Funding The Dream: Meditation and Memorial Garden Walkway

The Meditation and Memorial Garden will be an extension of sacred space beyond the walls of our sanctuary. Our garden will feature a peaceful walkway lined with commemorative bricks honoring past or current members or loved ones.
A Place of Reflection and Contemplation
Our garden will be a place of peaceful reflection and quiet contemplation as well as an outdoor gathering for ceremonies, memorials, services, and candlelight vigils. It will also be a place to inter ashes and to enjoy the beauty of nature.
Memorial Bricks
By investing in a brick, you not only establish a memorial for yourself or someone you want to honor, you also contribute to the legacy and history of Piedmont Unitarian Universalist Church.
Bricks may be inscribed with names, dates, or short messages to honor a life or loved one or to celebrate a birth, a marriage, an anniversary, a graduation, or any other milestone.
How can I place a brick in the garden?
Click here or fill out the form below to reserve one or more bricks with up to 60 characters each. We will not collect a fee at this time — just the number of bricks you need for planning purposes.
Funding the Garden
The funds for the creation and maintenance of our garden will be provided mainly through the sale of memorial bricks and other special items like benches, trees, boulders, a fountain, and other garden items — including the naming of the garden itself.
A Final Resting Place
As more and more individuals turn to cremation rather than burial, we are honored to offer a final resting place for the interment of ashes. A memorial garden was a part of the initial vision of our founders over 30 years ago. We are so proud to see this vision becoming reality and hope to break ground on this project in the fall of 2020.
