CYRE Update

CYRE Update

Greetings Families,

What’s happening with CYRE?  Here’s the news!

In March we will  begin our search for a Religious Education Coordinator/DRE.  In the meantime, we are actively recruiting volunteers within our congregation who are willing to lead programs between now and the end of the year to make sure we have something planned for our youth.  Majel will continue as lead for both sites through May.

What’s Currently Planned:

March 4: Black Lives Matter in Unitarian Universalism (UG), no service at Salisbury Gathering (SG)

March 11:  Introduction to Meditation (all ages; both sites UG and SG)

March 18, 25: SPECIAL SESSIONS—all ages (UG); Toolbox of Faith (SG)

April 1:  Multigenerational Sunday (Easter, Flower Communion)

April 8, 15: SPECIAL SESSIONS—continued (UG); Toolbox of Faith (SG)

May 13 Multigenerational Sunday (Mother’s Day)

June 3 Bridging Ceremony

Looking Ahead:

Sunday April 22 – June 10 we need volunteers to commit to a Sunday!!  A brain storm with parents yielded these ideas.  Majel will be reaching to different groups/individuals to schedule the upcoming Sundays.

  • Partners in Education
  • Community Gardening
  • Nonviolent Communication
  • Popcorn Theology
  • Book Group “If I Ever Get Out of Here” (ADORE)
  • Youth-Led Service
  • Animal Ministry
  • Congregational Care

I look forward to creating programming that our children will find engaging during this interim period.  I thank all those who have shared their time and wisdom with me during these first two months.
