Get To Know Piedmont UU Church Members

Cosette

Cosette has been a Unitarian Universalist since 2004 and member of Piedmont UU Church since 2016.  Cosette identifies as an Earth Centered Spiritualist or Pagan.  She appreciates the acceptance and support of the Unitarian Universalist community.  She has found that her active participation as a UU has broadened the scope of her pagan practices. She has planned and led pagan rituals.

Cosette is originally from San Diego, California and moved to the East Coast in 1983 when she joined the Army and served at Fort Drum, NY as a cook.  It was while serving in the military that she met her husband Bill.  They have been married 37 years.

Before retiring to North Carolina Bill had a career as an Air Traffic Controller.  Cosette pursued many different jobs from a catering cook at a local hospital to a customer service supervisor for LilyPons Water Gardens. Prior to their move to the Charlotte area, they were members of the UU Fellowship in Frederick, Maryland, where Cosette was active.

Cosette and Bill now live in Huntersville NC with their four cats.  Together they spend lots of time visiting with Bill’s mother, doing jigsaw puzzles, solving crosswords and playing a board game called Wingspan.  They are also backyard birders.

Cosette has served as an important leader at Piedmont UU, leading the Worship Team, which is responsible for Sunday services. She is a worship assistant, assisting the minister with the service one Sunday a month and provides support for the other four worship assistants. She is a member of CUUPs (Covenant of UU Pagans) and has planned and carried out Earth Centered and pagan rituals throughout the year. She is a member of the choir. Besides music and singing, Cosette enjoys quilting.  She especially likes creating art quilts and has won many ribbons for her quilts.
