Choose kindness, and laugh often.
Welcome to July and to a new monthly theme of Laughter.
Scientists and even sacred texts proclaim that laughter is “good for the soul” and that “a joyful heart does us good– like medicine.” Doctors tell us that laughter helps our cardiovascular system. It’s key to forming bonds and maintaining healthy relationships. It is clear from many sources that laughter is a vital part of the human experience.
Is laughter a regular part of your life? When was the last time you broke into laughter? Was it today? Yesterday? Last week?
I invite you to seek out laughter. Watch a comedy. Share a funny story.
I look forward to our time together in July. For now, I leave you with the following religious humor I found:
“A PRAYER FOR THE DAY
Dear God, so far today, I’ve done all right.
I haven’t gossiped, and I haven’t lost my temper.
I haven’t been grumpy, nasty or selfish, and I’m really glad of that!
But in a few minutes, God, I’m going to get out of bed,
and from then on, I’m probably going to need a lot of help.
May you laugh, and laugh often, beloveds.
