11:00 a.m. at University Gathering & Online

“Hurricane + Life”
Rev. Shakeisha Holton Gray

There are many ways to read those two words. Hurricane and life. In this season of increased weather related storms, Rev. Shakeisha will reflect on growing up in South Florida and the hurricanes of her youth and also discuss the many other types of storms we face in life. If there is a way to prepare, how do we do that? To hunker down? To ride them out? To clean up the debris afterwards?

11:30 a.m. at Salisbury Gathering

Water Communion Sunday
Rev. Dr. Amy Rio

Our beloved UU tradition of Ingathering continues with this annual service of water communion. Members and friends of our community are invited to bring water from their homes, water from a place that is sacred to them, or water from their travels to join with the water from others. The combined water is symbolic of our shared faith coming from many different sources. It is often then blessed by the congregation, then later boiled and refrigerated to use as the congregation’s “holy water” in child dedication ceremonies and similar events.
