Rev. Robin Tanner, Minister
Piedmont Unitarian Universalist Church is Robin’s first settlement and in this capacity she joins us with great enthusiasm and energy. She anticipates this ministry to be one marked by mutual growth. Robin comes with her partner Stephanie, Katy the dog and Jasper the cat.
Robin’s background is exemplary. She recently completed a Chaplain residency at Presbyterian Hospital in Albuquerque, NM. Her Bachelor of Arts is in Psychology and Religious Studies from the University of Rochester, Rochester, NY, 2006. Her Master of Divinity in Parish Ministry is from Harvard Divinity School, Cambridge, MA, 2009. She was ordained as a Minister in December, 2009. She has preached since 2006.
Robin’s compelling internships include one year at First Parish in Malden, MA, where she participated in services, preaching and leading time for all ages with the children. She also facilitated religious education, provided pastoral care and regularly attended committee and board meetings while there. The second was a two year, part-time hybrid internship with the First Church in Boston, and the Office of Ministry and Professional Leadership at the Unitarian Universalist Association headquarters.
Her high energy led her to begin side-by-side internships in 2007 at both First Church in Boston and the UUA, where she researched community ministry. It was here she learned that she was called to Parish Ministry. Please view her web site to learn more: robin-noelle-tanner.heroku.com.
PUUC Board Of Trustees
The Board of Trustees is elected by the congregation and is responsible for the business affairs and policies of the church and is the trustee of the property of the church. Our denomination's principal of congregational policy means that ultimate authority rests with the congregation. Therefore, whenever appropriate, the board meets with the congregation or with committee and council leaders on business and policy issues.
