Members
Responsibilities of a Member to the Church:
- Makes a commitment of self, time and resources to the spiritual community that is our congregation.
- Continues to be present throughout times of agreement and disagreement with a mutual respect for diversity.
- Upholds the Unitarian Universalist Principles and Purposes as well as the long term goals of this congregation.
- Maintains the health and strength of PUUC’s financial resources through contributions and annual pledges.
- Shares in the spiritual, social, intellectual and personal aspects of our community.
Responsibilities of the Church to the Member:
- Nurtures a supportive community for all, emphasizing an attitude of acceptance and support toward individual growth.
- Provides in-depth educational programs spanning the lifetime of the individual – nursery through mature adult levels.
- Establishes and maintains a physical space and professional staff or trained volunteers for worship, education and recreation.
- Pays dues and membership fees for each individual on a district and national level, providing a voice for each in the larger organization.
- Provides each member with our monthly newsletter “The Piedmont Perspective” and a subscription to World Magazine.
- Makes available opportunities for social action through community projects.
- Gives each member the right to vote in order to uphold the democratic process within the structure of our organization.
